Our Spring Concert features a combination of classic repertoire and exciting new works by nontraditional composers.
First Suite in Eb for Military Band. Rooted in British folk song, this work by the famous orchestral composer Gustav Holst is a cornerstone of concert band repertoire.
Sahuaro, written in 2022 by Mexican composer, Nubia Jaime Donjuan, this new work is quickly becoming a modern classic.
Shenandoah is a hauntingly beautiful arrangement of the traditional American folk song by Guyanese-American composer, Omar Thomas.
Hounds of Spring by Alfred Reed was inspired by the poem Atalanta in Calydon and is another cornerstone of concert band repertoire.
Fanfare Fortza, is a bold and rhythmic work by American composer and SWPCB favorite, Brian Balmages.
Volver a la Montaña, based on Incan folks songs, is a tour de force by the American composer, Shelley Hanson.
